nice slow day so far. the boss is back, but since my results aren't anything earth shattering he didn't have too much to say to me.
Had an interesting dream this am about studying with the moon princess who works in the lab next door. Not too muuch to say about it.

Currently listening to "Incubuss Dreams" on the drive. So far its only partially what it claims to be, which is a novel about vampire murders and the woman detective who is trying to solve them. The world built is an interesting one, but so far and this may sound funnythere is just too much sex in it.
I'm just starting disk 4 right now and the story so far:
Disk 1: general introduction to the different characters. the female lead is quite a bit neurotic and increadibly indecisive, which dosen't get us off on a good foot. A murdered stripper girl is found, looks to be the work of a vamp gang of some sort. Oh I should mention the world created is full of vampires, were-wolves (and other were beasts), necromancers, other supernatural stuff, and us good old humans. It seems everyone knows about everyone else and new rules ad laws have been made so we can all live together. At the end of disk 1 female lead begins to enter a state which she call the "Au Dour". Yes its french and pretty much is the equivelent of blood lust for a vamp, she is a necromancer, except she needs sex to cure her self of it.

Disk 2: begin sex scene, lots of indecision on femals's part, yadda yada yadda.
Disk 3: sex scene continues, penetration finally happens, vamp servant of Fem lead goes nuts
Disk 4: they finish reeling in vamp servant and have a chat with master Vamp.

One thing here that pisses me off is the master vamp is french, why is it that kick ass vamps are almost always french? Since when have the french been kick ass?

I guess the second annoyance of the day would be indisgressions, trust, and personal life. I'll leave it at that.

That's Laurell K. Hamilton's new book. Anita Blake was awesome in the first books of the series. But then the author found out that sex sells and off she went. This series was supposed to be horror/mystery. Her other series, Merry Gentry was supposed to be soft porn. Now they both are. Not that I mind it, but it's a shame because she loses the story in it. She's a really good writer when she sticks to her story. I've got Nightseer by her which is an unrelated first book that I'm dying for her to continue with, but she says she won't until she finishes these two series. I'm waiting for paperback for Incubus Dreams b/c I heard that the hardcover edition had typos on every page and inconsistencies. Because you're coming in on the tenth book in a series, you might not know that Anita shouldn't be able to have a vamp servant. And the three marks she's talking about are a no-no. BTW is Richard (the head werewolf) a dick in this book too?

Jamie's right there. But personally, the latest Anita Blake book made me go blah. The earlier ones are ten times better, and has ten times less sex. BTW, doesn't anyone have the count how many times Anita has sex? I lost count half way. AND I so miss nice Richard, I demand she brings back Richard and EDWARD.

I LOVED Edward!
His book was actually the first book I read and that got me into the series. You know why she doesn't bring Edward back? Because he'd kill her. Because he would not like what she has become.
