So its progressing. My decision has been finalized and I've spent most of the day running around talking to different administraitors about leaving school. Its odd in a way. People who have given me a hard time from before I was accepted here up until the point I walked into their office today were trying to talk me out of leaving. They have countered my arguments, presented other options, and done just about everything in their power to make me stay. If my mind wasn't so throughly made up I probably would be back reading papers to try to buff up for the third run at the prelim exam.
But no. I want to do things in life that are more important to me than a peice of paper with a fancy title on it.
I want to have a family.
I want to be artistic.
I want to do something rememberable.

I don't think this degree will really allow for any of that.
I have already had a few job oppertunities come up so with luck I won't be out of work for long. It will be very nice to get back to making money again. I will miss all of the people here. Probably the worst part of today so far is seeing the "you let me down" look on everyone's face.
I haven't said anything to me lab mates yet, but I'd almost be surprised if they didn't already know.
Well I've got forms to finish filling out, in triplicate. Oh the Joy.

There is just something very rewarding about using chain guns to blast exil dopelgangers off the deck of your cybernetically enhanced ship.
If you hadn't guessed we played a rocking game of shadowrun last night. I must say my character totaly rocks as do the other characters I build for some other people at the table. It was a total kick ass and take name sort of game night, and these ghosts didn't have names. There is really nothing like being able to enter a fantasy word and work off some of your real life stress through some serious butt stomping.

Unfortunatly although my mind loves the idea of running off to run the shadows until all hours of the night, my now, ugh, 30 year old body really dosen't appreciate the gesture.

Wow its been a week since I last posted. I've been busy and havn't had much time for it also not to much of interest to put down.

This morning I went to the dentist and got and overly enthuastic hygenist. You know its not going to be a good day when they keep saying, "Wow you really bleed a lot".
Well thats because you're stabing my gums with a metal pick. When people get punctured they bleed.

My thoughts on staying in school are once again scattered. I have the decision about half made up and have started contacting some friends to see what sort of job oppertunities are available. Unfortunatly this time of year isn't a big hiring point. I usually like to just make a decision and push ahead with it, but it looks like I could be here a while if nothing turns up.

Not too much else new.

As usual my mind changes with the blowing of the wind. I spoke with my advisor for a while and have decided to carry on with my work. It dosen't seem as hopeless as I had thought.

In other news, the winners of the yard sale story contest have finally been revealed. I'm happy to say my friend J won third place. Once again I didn't place at all. This is kind of upsetting because I feel like this story was one of my better ones. I find it interesting that my story did recieve nearly 1000 reads, which was more than 4 times any of the winners. Check it out at:

I go through this again and again but I've about had it with AR. One of the story winners wasn't even really on Genera, which should be scifi, fantasy, or horror. Maybe you could try to make a case that its horror, but it would be kind of weak. The other winner seemed to me like a rip off of Hell Raiser.
I need to get back to writing soon.

My excelent weekend.
Last week my weekend began on friday...why is that you might ask?
Well thursday night I'm heading home along rt. 9 and right around exit 11 I can see an accident up on the right hand poart of the road. I see the car in front of me tap their breaks. Probably rubber necking or somehting stupid like that. Then they SLAM on the breaks: complete stop. I jam on mine and hit the horn. My forester slowly skids to a stop just before hitting them. I hit the horn again. They have apparently decided to just park in the middle of the road. From behind me I hear the squeel of tires and I know its comming.
Bang! The forrester jolts as the guy behind me tags it.
The the jack ass who caused all of this finally puts his car in gear and takes off, ass wipe!!
So admits heavy traffic I get my vehicle over to the side of the road and exchange insurance info with the guy who hit me.
Friday I get an appointment to see the auto repair guys and spend most of the day waiting for my turn only to get a ticket to come back later when they have parts in. Ugh. I also deal with the insrance compagny on friday. At least I wasn't hurt and since it was totaly the other guy's fault the insurance co is going to foot the whole bill.

Frday night was game night. The game went well and I finally got to introduce the pirates. It was a good battle. The game got over a little early, but one of our guest players, Beer Guy, had some car trouble so I was still up until midnight ish trying to help him out. He ended crashing in the guest room. I am really glad we have a guest room.
Sat me and BZ got up and out of the house by 9:30ish which is early but we had a long drive ahead of us. Beer guy stayed behind to wait for his wife to try to get the car going. We made the long haul down to penn to pick up a life size R2D2 for the wedding. He needs some work, but for the 25$ plus gas he cost we couldn't have done better.

Sunday we pretty much just chilled out and cleaned the house.

Ah yes we saw Clerks 2 on thursday. Possibly the funniest movie I've seen in the last few years. I was literally asmatic with laughter. I highly recomend it to anyone who is a kevin smith fan or who appreciates some great genera humor.
