This has been one hell of a week.

The biochem test sucked big time. I can only hope the rest of the class did as poorly so I fit into the curve. So it was quite a few days wasted studying thhat I could have actually been learning something.
Yesterday was spent butting heads with fast talking morons in Saint Louis about GMP work on biomolecules. Well actually most of the day was wasted flying in a plan there and back, then taking tours of the site, then lunch, and comming in as the least amount of time used was the disscussions about the many flaws in their methods. They seem to know a lot more about the work they are doing than I think they actually do. A number of method flaws were presented to us as the correct ways to do things. So now I have to look all this shit up and see if its true or not.

Well actually hold that thought. I get a semi frantic call from my consultant contact person to call her back this morning. I do and what do I find....The offer I was asking 100$/hr (which in my mind and the minds of everyone I have spoken with is a very reasonable request) was turned down. Their counter offer, which from what they say (*cough* bullshit *cough*) is at the high end of their payscale is a wopping 33$ per hour. This is only 7$ an hour more than I was making as a full time employee and that's not including benefits of any sort or the actuall calcuation of how muchh I actually worked.
I had a hard time not laughing in her face....actually I did laugh in her face. So now I'm going to submit the time I have worked, take their meager paycheck for it and give them the finger. Let them run this project without me. Maybe they can, maybe they cann't. I know they won't be able to hit their first few deadlines with will probably cost Pfizer in the range of hundreds of thousands of dollars for the studies that will be put on hold.
I'm fairly certain there will be anouther coounter offer, when my full refusal is heard. And if not well then I'll have more time to study. Bad ews is I probably won't be able to get the vid camera I wanted, which screws up my need to be a film maker. Maybe I can still work it some how. We'll see.

Dreams have been crappy lately. Lots o fighting last night and I was losing. Maybe the presure is starting to get to me.

Wicked cool. PCR worked.
Today I'm extracting DNA from Tumor cells man I love science.

Not much else exciting going on. We have our first exam next tuesday which is a little scarry, but not too bad. I hope.

Oh and my peeps at PFe want me to go to saint louis to put the smack down on the facility there. Although I know all the right things to say the confidance is often lacking. I'm very good at being number 2, whispering the words of wisdom into the ear of those that will carry it out. I'm not usually much for outright confrontation.
It should pay like 1600 bucks though for the two days and I need a new video camera.

Well it was another wild weekend. Last wekend was Film Fest in newhaven. the flis this year were much better than last. I don't know if it was just better submissions or a better eye picking them, but it was good.
Some of my favorites:
Robot rompus: An AI is placed in a class of 1st graders halarity enses. first off this is one of the most hideous robots I have ever seen. One global dolls eye, one screen eye, a drop down jaw filled with crappy jarred bits of metal teeth, which tends to drool oil, a single claw like arm and treadmill feet. The writing was just brilliant nd thhe kids reactions were great.

Unicornimation, "A love story": Ever wonder what it looks loke when two animted unicorns get it on? Well wait no longer. Lots of horn fucking and blow jobs, also hysterical.

The Plunge: guy attempts to propose to his action packed girlfriend by setting up a parachute jump for them. Great facial expression acting, nice premise an script.

There were a ton of other good films but those were the best.
I got to see all or most of my film buddies again and strangly enough most of them didn't seem to have changed at all. It was almost like going back in time. Maybe its just that my life tends to be broken up in random large scale changes that I have somewhat become accustomed to.

I ran a gel today of a PCR that was done friday. I am very hopeful.

Last few days have been full of dreams. this morning's was very vivid of fighting someone with axes and other choping type weapons. Kind of scary, kind of cool.

Well this is a bit of a late post. this week has been full of failed PCR reactions, new classes and working on a presentation with some MD/PHD chick. At least she isn't a moron.

Last weekend I went to play NERO. For those of you who don't know NERO is a LARP or Live action roll play game, if you can imagine a really cheezy ren faire, where people attack each other with foam weapons and throw bean bags at each others to simulate spells thats pretty close to what its actually like.
It was a decent amount of fun. They have a few more rules thhatt I would have if i ran the game, but then its probably to increase the mass appeal. I NPC'ed for the weekend meaning I got to play all the bad guys and any random plot driven character the people playing got to meet. I got to play Ogers, Trolls, Kobalds, A Ghost, Exploding gobblins, and a lot more.
Combat was pretty cool. I droped quite a few PCs (player characters). In soe ways its kind of fun to beat on nerds and geeks and if the odds weren't signifigantly in their favor (usually 2-3 to 1 and some times as much as 5-6 to 1) I would have caused some serious havoc.

Tonight our normal DnD game has been put on hold duue to a number of people having to skip so I'm going to try out talisman for the first time. I've heard good things about it.
I really need to find my creative centers again. Its been far too long since I have written anything real, painted minis, or anything else like that.
there have ben dreams all this week, btu i can't remember much of any of them. They were high action.

This weekend is filmfest in new haven. I'm going to be a loby manager for the first time which should be cool. I hope they have better films thann last year.

well Last night turned out to be a bit of a clamity.
I went to a student faculty happy hour, whichbwas pretty good, lots of pizza and free drinks. Then a bunch of us went off to some local bar for an after party of sorts.
Let me just say this, you know you're going to be the hit of the party when you walk in and some hot gal goes "Hey, what happened to your shirt?" and its at that point you realize the shirt has a big rip/hole in it just above the pocket, showing a bit more chest then you were planning to. So you joke it off and try to ignore it, but its still there and seems to be opening a little wider. What to do? you try to pull it down a little so the hole close up some but then realize the top seam is comming undone too.
Fucking bastard shirt.
When I got home I ripped the thing off. I should have known not to buy silk. Polyester is the material for me.
Other than that it was a fairly fun night.
The hangover this morning was not so fun. I barly made it in today, but i had a class and needed to get a TB test done.
Started my PCR again, fingers crossed.

This morning was full of weird dreams.
I drempt that I was in a new dumb and dumber movie, but instead of being me I was Loyd Christmas. Me and Harry went on this wacky adventure, which had us riding a metal snow disk. Unlike the real snow disks this one could slide on walls and stuff too and if you beleived in it it could fly a bit.
So me and Harry are fying on the disk and we land on this roof top of a brick building. We were having a discussion about something or other when this evil witch comes flying down and attacks us. I know it was an evil witch due to her big urly nose.
I say something to piss her off and she comes at me and grabes me. Which scares me initially but as soon as my mind pulls back from the fear I realize I have her just where I want her and I biter her big evil nose off. As I was about to bite her neck to further do her harm I woke up.

this morning was a nice and slow one besides tat. I didn't go in to work like I was supposed to because I had to go to the temp agency and fill out soe paperwork. I still don't know how much I am getting paid, but I told the lady I wanted 100/hr and she didn't seem to think that was unreasonable. Here's to hoping she can swing more.

got in to school mins audio book. the drive is long and dull with out bill clinton telling me his tale. I need to get a new book soon.
I'm running another gel of a PCR experiment s I'm hoping this one will work too.

Hoody Hoo!!!
PCR sees to have worked today!!!!!
Good news and free drinks for everyone!!!

Comming back from a 3 day weekend is always hard. Staying up late every night and getting up early dosen't make it any easier. Today I learned one of my classes is getting cancled so i had to find a replacement asap. Got one, but just hope its not more than I can handle.

Went to Salem Mass this weekend. Let me say, suck fest 04. The place was pure cheeze and may have even erred on the side of too much ass. The little shows were full of over acting, the shops full of new age crap (and not even good crap) It was so comercial i almost threw up. Not to mention just about everything there was comercialized: from the bewitching candy shop down to the cemetary (which BTW didn't have any witches in it, but people felt the need to tromp through it looking for interesting graves to read anyway. When I go I deffinatly want a viking funeral. I don't need people to come stomp on my finaly resting place. Much better to have some crab eat what remains of me after the ship burns. From dust to dust and back to nature and all that.

The weekend was full of nast nightmares but i can't remember any of them enough to describe. All I know is they woke me up about every hour.

Running a gel today and am hopefull for how it turns out.

Note to self:
Wearing shiny shirts which appear to be textured is good. I have 3 chicks come up and want to rub it:)
Ok so it was only 2, but one did it twice.

Well I'm in the dog house. Yesterday was BZ's B-day and I didn't call her or email her. I'm such an idiot about these things. I even reminded my self a few times. It annoys me tha i forget stuff like this but probably not as much as it annoys her.

I had an odd dream last night. I was hiking or rock climbing or some thing like that with BZ. We were crawling down between these two huge rocks. Now to give you soe prespective this was a very vivid dream. the rocks were grey where the light hit them with orangish streaks running theough them. Where the light didn't fall it was all sort of a strange orange glow. there were old leaves and stuff padding the ground and a lot of smaller rocks here and there. Along the large rocks I could see bits of crystals and other shiny things.

We crawled down a ways and there were these spider things down there that were poisinious, and purple ish but kind of transparent. They had sort of an amytheist look to them. Then there were these piles of crystals like 4 in a circular pattern with a fifth one on top. I remember reaching for the crystals and having one of the spider things jump out and go after me. I have this odd feeling the crystals were the spider thing's eggs. I wokr up trying to brush the spider off my arm. But it wasn't really creepy like other spider dreams I have had in the past.

Not too much else to report. Reran my PCR so I'll see if it worked bettter this time. I really hope so. I got my boffer's finished, at least a great sword and a long sword. I'll make some more tonight, maybe an axe.
